A Provencal Welcome: An Intimate Evening at Château d’Estoublon

There is a particular kind of magic that unfolds when the golden light of the Alpilles meets the ancient stone of a historic estate. It was such a joy to join this wonderful couple from the United States for their Welcome Dinner at Château d’Estoublon. For a destination wedding, this first evening is so much more than a rehearsal; it is the heartbeat of the celebration, where the excitement of travel transforms into the warmth of being together. Working alongside Claire Bounon from Maison Bounon made this experience even more special, as we share a common vision of creating soulful, authentic memories for our clients.

I arrived at the Château as the afternoon heat began to soften, allowing me to document the stunning design in the quiet before the festivities. The long imperial table, set beneath the majestic stone vaults, was a masterpiece of refined elegance. I was deeply inspired by the delicate stationery from Zeste d’Amour and the vibrant, textured floral arrangements by Les Fleurs de Ninon. Every detail, from the choice of linens to the flickering candlelight, felt like a heartfelt gesture from the couple to their guests. As a photographer, I see these details as the silent storytellers of the day, reflecting the personality and care put into every moment.

When the guests arrived for cocktails in the courtyard, the atmosphere was perfectly “chill” and elegant, accompanied by the soulful strings of Behla Guitarist. I love these moments of “in-between”—the spontaneous laughter, the long-overdue hugs, and the quiet glances between the bride and groom. My approach is to remain a discreet observer, capturing the true essence of the evening without ever feeling intrusive. There was a beautiful moment when the candles were lit inside the hall; seeing the couple’s eyes light up as they discovered the final setting was a reminder of why I am so passionate about my craft.

The dinner continued deep into the night under the historic arches. It was an evening of heartfelt speeches and shared wine, a true celebration of love in the heart of Provence.
