Wedding at Mas des Costes: A Fusion of Emotion and Provençal Light
As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing truly unique moments. The wedding I am sharing with you today is a perfect example of Provence at its finest: authenticity, golden light, and an exceptional setting at Mas des Costes. Here is a look back at two days of intense celebration.
Mas des Costes: An Exceptional Gem in the Heart of Provence
This is a venue I know well and particularly appreciate. Beyond its architectural beauty, the welcome extended to both the couple and the vendors is always impeccable, which greatly facilitates my work in capturing the story of the day.
To begin the day, I took several aerial drone shots. This allows me to place the event within its natural environment and offer the couple a unique, spectacular perspective of their reception venue.
The Preparations: The Art of Detail and Connection
The “getting ready” phase is a key moment for me; it’s where the story of the day begins to unfold. I had the pleasure of working again with the talented Marion Lhote, a hair and makeup artist with whom collaboration is always a joy.
While she was enhancing the bride’s natural beauty, I focused on capturing the Fine Art details: the shoes, the jewelry, the stationery, and the invitation suite, all within the hushed, elegant atmosphere of the suite.
On the groom’s side, the mood was lighthearted and filled with laughter alongside his groomsmen. We took the opportunity to capture some outdoor portraits, making the most of the soft light of this beautiful April day.
A Meaningful Ceremony Framed by Floral Artistry
Before the guests took their seats, I took care to photograph the exquisite work of Les Fleurs de Ninon. Their floral design for the ceremony was simply breathtaking. These shots are essential: often overwhelmed by emotion, the couple only truly discovers these fine details through my images after the wedding.
The “First Look” between the bride and her father was a suspended moment in time, filled with pure emotion. It was followed by a vibrant ceremony—a perfect balance of laughter and tears of joy. As a photographer, I always strive to capture the spontaneous reactions of the guests, as they are what make your memories so rich and authentic.
Cocktail Hour, “Golden Hour,” and Magic at Mas des Costes
After the congratulations, it was time to relax with a cocktail reception catered by Mina Kouk. Between refined hors d’oeuvres, I alternated between “stolen moments” (candids) and more formal group portraits to ensure my couple has a complete record of their loved ones.
As the sun began to set, we slipped away for the couple’s session. The iconic driveway of Mas des Costes, bathed in the famous Golden Hour light, served as the backdrop for this timeless moment. My goal is simple: to highlight the love and connection between the couple in the most flattering, ethereal light possible.
A High-Energy Celebration to Close the Day
Before sitting down for dinner, I captured the reception decor—the result of long months of planning by the couple. Then, the evening shifted gears with the first dance.
The dancefloor was electrified by Must Animation. Franck, with his usual talent and charisma, kept the guests dancing late into the night. It was an incredible atmosphere to conclude this magnificent wedding.
