This past December, I had the pleasure of rediscovering a domain I already knew, but which has recently undergone a spectacular metamorphosis: Château de Vergières.
Located in Saint Martin de Crau, this historic estate has recently changed ownership, embarking on a new chapter after a complete and meticulous renovation.
An Expert Tour in the Heart of Provence
For this winter immersion, I was accompanied by Clotilde and Amélie, the talented wedding planners from Fairytale. We frequently collaborate on destination weddings in Provence, and their expert eyes are always invaluable when assessing a venue’s potential for our future couples.

While the estate was familiar to me, the work accomplished is nothing short of impressive. The new owner has successfully preserved the authentic soul of the Château while introducing a discreet, modern luxury that perfectly meets the expectations of an international clientele.
The Exteriors: An Editorial Backdrop for Couple Portraits Upon arrival, the majestic facade framed by hundred-year-old plane trees sets the tone. In December, even under a softer light, the estate retains an incredible editorial aura. The gardens offer a multitude of intimate nooks for a ceremony or an outdoor reception under the stars.
The Interiors: Fine Art Refinement We toured the entire estate to discover the newly renovated suites. As a photographer, I was immediately struck by:
- Light and Volume: The rooms are vast and bathed in natural light that beautifully enhances textures and skin tones.
- The Majestic Staircase: Adorned with a rare and delicate mural, it is the dream location for breathtaking bridal portraits.
- The Living Room: With its monumental fireplace and antique terracotta tiles (“tomettes”), it exudes a warm and quintessentially French “Art de Vivre.”
- The Guest Suites: Each room has been decorated with exquisite taste, blending character furniture with contemporary comfort. A special mention goes to the bathrooms and their claw-foot bathtubs—perfect for those “getting ready” editorial shots.
