I’m proud to share a recent three‑day celebration for a French‑Italian couple traveling from the United States—an event that embodied the magic of a destination wedding in Provence.
Day 1: Provençal Delights and First Smiles at Terre Ugo
We opened with a relaxed welcome dinner at Terre Ugo, a lavender‑field estate near Aix‑en‑Provence—ideal for gathering guests before the big day. The atmosphere was warm and joyful, complete with a talented bartender and a pizza food truck, setting a convivial tone I loved photographing.
The highlight was a sunset couple session in Terre Ugo’s sweeping lavender fields. This quintessential Provençal setting offered sublime light and a breathtaking backdrop for images of rare poetry. We also made time for beautiful family portraits, capturing the essence of togetherness and ease. Terre Ugo is renowned for its idyllic fields—perfect for unforgettable photographs.
Day 2: Emotion at the Heart of Château d’Alphéran
The next morning began with both partners getting ready in the same house, surrounded by loved ones—an intimate setting for authentic moments. The couple’s first look was charged with emotion, a privileged instant I was honored to capture.
We then headed to the magnificent Château d’Alphéran, where historic elegance meets country charm. There, a second first look—this time with the bridesmaids—proved equally tender and joyful. A true Provençal gem, the château offers a refined stage for dream weddings.
Before guests arrived, I focused on photographing the ceremony design. These images are essential, allowing the couple to appreciate the meticulous work and vision of their designer from a fresh perspective.
The ceremony itself—conducted in French, Italian, and English—was a whirlwind of emotion, reflecting the couple’s rich cultural tapestry. A secular ceremony is the heart of the day; my role is to capture not only the couple’s intense reactions, but also the subtle interactions and emotions among guests, building a complete, living narrative.
After the ceremony, Maison Nans—an Aix‑en‑Provence caterer I collaborate with regularly and highly recommend—orchestrated the cocktail hour with excellence and creativity. It was the perfect time for candid ambiance, guest portraits, family photos, and even a few aerial drone shots to reveal the estate’s full grandeur.
As the Provençal sun neared the horizon, we slipped away for another couple session. Far from posed stiffness, I encourage couples to be themselves—sharing laughter and spontaneous tenderness. It’s in those honest, unscripted instants that the most beautiful images are born.
Before the reception, I photographed the dinner décor—every detail contributing to an atmosphere of enchantment. The couple’s entrance crackled with energy, a thrilling moment to document.
The evening continued in the château’s beautifully lit Orangery. DJ Kevin Allain transformed the dance floor with impeccable taste, keeping everyone dancing late into the night. The Orangery is one of the estate’s most sought‑after spaces for unforgettable parties.
